I Made it to Istanbul, my Luggage Did Not

I have nothing much to report yet on Istanbul. I arrived yesterday without my luggage, took a nap, and then went looking for inexpensive clothers. More on Korea …

Before I head out for Turkey on Wednesday, I figured I’d better finish blogging about my trip to Korea. First, more on Korean BBQ. On Saturday, while I was attending a middle school debate tournament, I ran into a debate professor, Jason, who was able to give me more information on the “gogijip” (Korean for “BBQ joint”) I had gone to on Thursday night. It turns out Jason was the first of the debate ex-pats to discover the place. He thinks the place is called Ung Dom Mal, but he wasn’t certain. What I do know is that the place is near Sungshin Women’s University and a theater district called Hyehwa. Korean BBQ

I like to eat grilled meat. Korea is one of the best places to come if you want good grilled meat, particularly if you like sitting at a table where you get to grill it yourself. With the Korean Won having lost about a third of its value at this point, you can feast on Korean BBQ for a very reasonable price. Continue reading
